A TRIP away for members of Neilston's Freemasons' Lodge has resulted in a welcomed boost for a local charity.
Members from the village's Lodge Thistle & Crown visited three lodges in the Cotswolds.
During the trip, they were handed a £330 donation to pass on to a good cause of their choice.
The members decided to donate the cash to Brightest Star - a Paisley-based charity which aims to support bereaved parents through memory boxes, counselling, and family outings.
The lodge selected the cause after Neilston woman Cathy Brenchley previously raised £1,000 through a Ladies' Day held in the lodge and donated the money to the charity.
John Miller, Master of the Lodge Thistle & Crown, said: “We were invited to the Cotswolds by three local lodges. At the end of our visit, we were presented with a generous £330 donation.
“Cathy Brenchley had already raised a magnificent £1,000 through a Ladies’ Day and it was decided we should follow suit and add our donation to the Brightest Star charity.”
