A BARRHEAD pub has managed to scoop an award at this this year’s Scottish Hospitality and Entertainment Awards.
The Cross Stobs Inn on Grahamston Road won Best Independent Bar for the central belt and came runner up for Best Sports Bar.
We previously reported that the pub was shortlisted for the two awards at the ceremony, which was held in Glasgow on Thursday, May 18.
After scooping the award, pub owner Jonathan Wengel said he was “delighted” about it.
He said: “I’m delighted.
“We were up against a lot of other pubs, and we were runner up in best Sports Bar as well, so we were really pleased with that.
“We’re absolutely over the moon. I’m also over the moon for the staff as they have worked really hard, and it’s been really tough the last few years.”
Jonathan also said the award means “everything” to him.
He continued: “It’s so nice to be recognised for the hard work that you have put in – it means absolutely everything.
“I’ve been up for a few awards over the years and won a few but this was sort of the big one and we were really, really pleased.”
