A MUCH loved supermarket's in-store florist in Giffnock has closed.
Morrisons confirmed the closure of their florist station in the towns store following a “detailed review” of their florist offerings.
The supermarket giant has said that all staff who have been affected by the closing of the flower stall will be offered alternative roles.
On top of that, the retailer also said that instead of the in-store florist they will be offering a new range of hand tied bouquets for customers.
Taking to social media residents expressed their sadness about the closure.
One said: “Such a shame, their flowers and plants were always good and the girls there were always helpful, good customer service.”
Another said: “Very sad to hear this.”
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “Following a detailed review of our florist offer we have made the decision to close the florist station in our Giffnock store.
“We will be launching a new range of hand tied bouquets for customers that are created at our Flowerworld site in Derby.
“We are offering all affected colleagues alternate roles should they wish to stay at Morrisons.”
