SCORES of Barrhead bowlers enjoyed an old-fashioned knees-up to celebrate the King's coronation.
The bash took place at Arthurlie Bowling Club, in Springhill Road, on Thursday, May 6.
It was one of the first events to take place at the new clubhouse after the previous one was destroyed by a falling tree during a storm in January 2018.
Elenor Goldberg, member of Arthurlie Bowling Club, said the 60 participants enjoyed the afternoon.
She told the Barrhead News: "It was a very good celebration and it was nice to have something upbeat.
"I don't know if there were many coronation celebrations going on in Barrhead, so I think it was quite unique event.
"Our bowling club has just been rebuilt after it was demolished by a tree five years ago, so I think a lot of people were also keen to come back and see what the new building looked like."
There were a variety of fun activities on offer for participants, such as a quiz, bingo and a raffle.
Each attendee was given a glass of fizz on arrival and could also enjoy a range of cold meats, as well as tasty quiches and salad, as part of a buffet.
Elenor added: "We got good feedback and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves.
"It's important to get people together, as many people have been isolated for so long.
"I'm sure there were people there who hadn't seen each other for quite a long time, so it's good to get them back into the community."
