GARDEN waste permits can now be bought for 2023-24 by residents across East Renfrewshire.

New permits will cost £50, while residents who already have a permit and would like to renew it have been given extra time to do so - with a new deadline of Monday, May 1.

East Renfrewshire Council says residents will have the option to buy a second permit this year - though the additional permit will be more than twice the cost of the first.

The local authority says the £110 cost of a second permit includes £50 for the permit itself and £60 for the one-off supply of a second brown bin.

To ensure your garden waste is collected after Monday, May 1, the council is urging residents to purchase the permit by Friday, April 14.

They say this is to “allow time for the permit to arrive.”

Garden waste will only be collected once the new permit is shown on the brown bin.

All residents across the authority will receive a letter regarding the garden waste permits.

Those who have permits for 2022/23 will continue to receive garden waste collection until the week commencing April 24.
