East Renfrewshire Council is to host a training course in Barrhead for anyone who is keen to start a career in customer service and retail.
The two-week course, which is free of charge and open to all local residents, will be led by the council’s employability service, Work EastRen, at its Lowndes Street office from Monday, February 6, until Friday, February 17.
Funding is being provided by the Scottish Government’s No-one Left Behind programme and the training will cover different aspects of customer service, including communication skills, emergency first aid, employability and food safety.
The first aid and food safety elements are both accredited qualifications.
Councillor Danny Devlin, East Renfrewshire's environment convener, said: “Whether you’re unemployed, looking to upskill or want a change in career, this training is a fantastic opportunity.
"If you’re interested in a role in customer service or retail, I’d encourage you to get in touch with Work EastRen and sign up to the course.”
