Motorists are being warned to expect delays next week as resurfacing work on a busy East Renfrewshire route continues.
Mearns Road, in Newton Mearns, is scheduled to be shut between Kinnaird Avenue and Falkland Avenue from Monday, December 12, until Friday, December 16, as Scottish Water carry out resurfacing works.
A current road closure which is in place between Roddinghead Road and Flenders Road for pipe laying will be lifted on Sunday, December 11, prior to this new closure coming into force.
Diversions will be in place to ensure the resurfacing works can be carried out safely.
Work to upgrade around 1.2km of water mains began on Mearns Road at the junction of Kinnaird Avenue at the beginning of July.
The £500,000 worth of upgrades to the water network has progressed in phases, on a rolling programme, along Mearns Road and will eventually come to an end at the junction of Flenders Road.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "Local residents and road users are thanked in advance for their patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out."
