THE owners of two East Renfrewshire hotels have committed to increasing wages across their business.

Manorview Hotels and Leisure, which runs The Busby Hotel, in Clarkston, and The Redhurst Hotel, in Giffnock, pay the ‘real living wage’ as a minimum rate to all their staff.

The rate rose by 10% this year, moving from £9.90 to £10.90 per hour – which is between £1.40 and £6.09 more per hour than the government’s national minimum wage.

Being an accredited employer, Manorview will increase everyone’s wages to the new rate by Monday, November 28. 

Those on a higher hourly rate will also receive a raise and their team who are on salaries will also receive a wage increase at the same time.

In an effort to support their customers during the cost-of-living crisis, the chain has also committed to freezing the prices of food and drink in their bars and restaurants.

Carlton Graham, operations director at Manorview, said “Our customers should know that when they eat and drink with us, they are contributing to something bigger.

“They are making it possible for us to pay the living wage and increase our team’s pay across the business.

“In this economy that’s no mean feat and we are very grateful to our fantastic, loyal customers.”
