Trains in and out of Neilston are running normally today after travellers using the station experienced severe disruption yesterday (Monday, August 29).
Due to engineering work not being completed in time, services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride were subject to delay, alterations, and cancellations.
This disruption lasted from the start of service until around 2pm.
According to Network Rail, the line had "to remain closed for longer than expected while engineers worked to repair machinery and signalling faults".
A spokesman added: “Track improvement work has now been completed and the railway through Cathcart re-opened on Monday afternoon.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this caused passengers."
To keep people moving, ScotRail arranged for valid train tickets to be accepted on selected McGill's bus services.
Phil Campbell, ScotRail’s head of customer operations, told the Barrhead News: “We’re sorry to our customers who experienced disruption to their journey on Monday as a result of overrunning engineering works in the Cathcart area.
“Anyone who was delayed by 30 minutes or more is entitled to claim for compensation through our Delay Repay Guarantee.
“Just keep hold of your ticket and claim on our website or mobile app.”
