Producers are searching for a budding local star to play Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz on stage in East Renfrewshire later this year.
The actress chosen will perform to thousands this panto season at Eastwood Park Theatre, in Giffnock, alongside a professional cast from Spillers Pantomimes.
After submitting video recordings, those shortlisted for the paid role will be invited to the final auditions which will take place at the theatre on July 31.
Kay Spillers, managing director of Spillers Pantomimes, told the Barrhead News: "This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a major production and gain valuable experience on stage, in a professional environment.
"We are looking for a talented local, aged 18 or over, to take on the paid role of Dorothy.
“You'll need to be an excellent actress with fantastic vocals.
“If you're keen to break into professional theatre, now is your chance.
“This could be your lucky break.”
The show will run from Friday, November 25 to Saturday, December 31.
To apply you must be available for the entire rehearsal and performance period – November 15 to December 31 (inclusive).
Those aspiring to take on the role of Dorothy, should provide a video recording along with a 30-second introduction, including why they want to be Dorothy.
They should also submit a video recording from the script and sing a minute and a half of either Home, the Diana Ross version from The Wiz, or Once Upon a Time from Brooklyn.
Audition videos should be sent directly to Spillers Pantomimes at pantoauditions@btinternet.com by Wednesday, July 20.
Further details, including the audition script, can be found at ercultureandleisure.org/search-for-a-star/.
