Four lucky residents from a Barrhead care home were treated like VIPs when they were invited to attend a special school production of The Lion King.
Kathleen, Muriel, Carolynn and Agnes were picked up by limousine from Norwood Nursing Home and chauffeur driven to Cleeves Primary School in Nitshill.
When they arrived their special treatment continued as they were given front-row seats.
Agnes, 78, said: “The show was amazing. I really enjoyed it and I felt as though I’d been transported to another world. We were treated like VIPs and given front-row seats, chocolate and juice.”
The school’s headteacher, Hazel Sim, is the niece of Carolynn and she was over the moon when her auntie and her three friends accepted the invitation to attend.
The production had taken months of hard work to put together – and thanks to a collaboration with Scottish Opera has set the bar high for future years.
Hazel added: “Working alongside our teaching specialists from Scottish Opera, our staff and children developed the skills and confidence to produce a show to an exceptionally high standard.”
