SCHOOLS in Neilston have been handed a cash boost after taking part in a competition inspired by celebrated poet Robert Burns.
Youngsters at both Neilston Primary and St Thomas Primary were challenged to create original work with a Burns theme in the contest organised by members of the village’s Masonic Lodge.
John Miller, Master of Lodge Thistle & Crown No. 1167, was joined by Burns expert Archie Chalmers as they visited the schools to view the entries.
Each school was also presented with a cheque for £200.
