Residents had the chance to learn more about getting fighting fit at an open day hosted by a Barrhead sports club.
I-Kick Martial Arts, in Cogan Street, welcomed a steady stream of people to the event, which raised more than £300 for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Those who came along got to grips with martial arts taster sessions, including one on self-defence aimed at females.
Ross Penman, I-Kick’s founder, told the Barrhead News: “There were some newbies who came along to try the free sessions.
“It was only our second open day in eight years as a club but it is definitely something we would do again, probably as an annual event.”
