BARRHEAD motorists have been warned of delays as a busy road near the town is to close for over a month.
Nitshill Road will be closed to traffic to allow the installation of a new water main, Glasgow City Council announced.
The road will be closed in both directions, from Peat Road to Barrhead Road.
The works will begin at 9.30am on Monday, February 14 and will last for more than a month, until 5pm on Thursday, March 22.
Drivers are being advised to use alternative routes as delays are expected, especially at peak times.
Diversions for Nitshill Road will be in place via Barrhead Road and Peat Road, around Silverburn shopping centre.
The works will be carried out by Caledonia Water Alliance.
A Glasgow City Council traffic bulletin read: "To enable Caledonia Water Alliance to install a new water main, it will be necessary to close Nitshill Road to traffic in both directions.
"The works will commence at 09.30am on Monday, February 14, 2022 until 5pm on Thursday, March 22, 2022.
"Delays are to be expected, especially at peak times, and drivers are advised to use an alternative route where available.
"Traffic will be diverted via Barrhead Road, Peat Road and vice versa."
