Martial arts expert Niamh Junner has been flying the flag for East Renfrewshire on the international stage.
The talented Barrhead woman was in Pamplona, Spain, at the weekend to take part in the first senior event of 2022 to be organised by the World Karate Federation (WKF).
Niamh, who is still under 21, is able to enter senior events through the Scottish Karate Governing Body.
Fighting in the first round of the +68kg category, she recorded a 5-2 win over Martina Sachova, who was fifth at last year's Senior World Championships in Dubai.
That set up a second round clash with Klara Wendel, of Sweden, which Niamh won 2-0.
She followed that up with a 1-0 victory over Russian opponent Pipko Daria in round three to set up a semi-final showdown with Pola Giotgetti, of Luxembourg, which she won 3-1 to reach Sunday's final.
Niamh faced Tatiana Zyabkina, also of Russia, for the gold medal, with neither fighter managing to score, which left the decision in the hands of the judges.
On this occasion, Niamh lost on flags but was rewarded with her first senior WKF medal at the age of 20.
