FITNESS gurus have launched a series of outdoor bootcamp and body pump sessions to keep people active and in good spirits in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure (ERCL) set up the programme following the success of its free online fitness classes during lockdown.
The new sessions, running six days a week at the Barrhead Foundry and Eastwood High School, are being hosted by four fitness favourites – Ashley Walton, Louise Lightbody, Kirsty Maclaren and Nikki Hollyman – who have been taking the trust’s live classes online over the past few months.
Louise said: “We’re so excited to be moving to the next stage and offering our brand new outdoor fitness sessions.
“The bootcamp and body pump classes will cater for all abilities, including beginners.
“We would love to see our dedicated fitness members coming along, people who started their fitness journey with us online during lockdown and brand new faces who want to start increasing their fitness levels.
“It’s amazing how many people have tuned in to take part in our online fitness classes and we hope to keep everyone fit, healthy and motivated during the coming weeks with our new outdoor classes.”
The new sessions will follow Covid-19 safe guidelines for outdoor exercise, including small class sizes and social distancing.
Participants should turn up ready to train, as no indoor changing facilities will be available.
Classes last for an hour and cost £5, with all fitness levels catered for.
There is limited availability for each session and places must be booked in advance.
