A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident in Barrhead.
David Millar, 23, was arrested after a 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries in Stewart Street on Sunday, May 31.
The emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8.35pm that evening in response to reports that someone had been struck by a car.
It is understood that the man, who has not been named, had also suffered stab wounds.
He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment.
Millar, from East Renfrewshire, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court this week in connection with the incident.
He is accused of assault to danger of life and attempted murder.
Millar made no plea and was committed for further examination before being released on bail.
