HILARIOUS photographs of an East Renfrewshire girl before and after her first day at school have gone viral.
Neilston mum Jillian Falconer shared the snaps of her five-year-old daughter Lucie with the Barrhead News yesterday.
One of the photos shows the Neilston Primary pupil looking pristine in her school uniform, with a neat hairstyle and a big smile on her face as she looks forward to her first day in the classroom.
However, side-by-side with that snap is a photo of Lucie returning home from school...with her tie and socks skew-whiff, her hair in a mess and sporting a serious frown.
Since being posted online by the Barrhead News, the story has reached more than 700,000 users on Facebook and collected over 7,000 likes.
Jillian said she is stunned that Lucie's first day at school has caused such a stir.
She told the Barrhead News: “Lucie is just like any typical child. When I went to pick her up from school and saw how she looked, I was mortified.
"I asked her what she had been doing at school and she said ‘Oh nothing, I just played with my friends.’
“Her dad had messaged me from work, asking how her first day went, and I said to him ‘You won’t believe the state she’s in.’
"When she was getting her bag out the car and walking towards me, I took the picture.
“We can’t believe it has gone viral."
