YOUNGSTERS from Uplawmoor Primary School celebrated World Book Day in style.
Pupils dressed as characters from their favourite books and took part in a variety of fun-filled activities including working in their ‘houses’ to design a character from a book using giant pieces of cardboard and paint.
Peter Pan, Harry Potter, Dennis the Menace and Little Red Riding Hood were just a few of the characters pupils chose to dress up as.
The day was rounded off with stories told by parent helpers and primary 1-3 children enjoyed taking part in paired reading groups with primary 6 and 7 children.
All money raised from the day will go towards ‘Book Aid International’, a charity dedicated to changing lives through books.
Head teacher, Mrs McKay, said: “It was fabulous to see all of our pupils working together in art to recreate their favourite book characters, whilst dressed as their favourite book characters.”
