BARRHEAD’S only golf club is in full swing as it gears up for its annual Pro’s Day this Saturday.
Scott Garrett, PGA Professional at Fereneze Golf Club, has been working hard behind the scenes preparing for one of the busiest days in the local golf calendar.
Over 150 golfers will tee off with the aim of winning the competition while also looking to snap up one of the many prizes on offer.
The tournament will follow the same format as in previous years as teams of two players target the lowest net score.
Scott, who has been putting the final touches to this weekend’s event, told Barrhead Sport: “I hope everyone at Fereneze Golf Club is looking forward to Pro’s Day this Saturday.
“It has been pretty hectic over the last few weeks getting everything in place but it is always worth it to see so many people having a good time.
“There will be lots of special prizes and lots of fun activities taking place on the course and in the clubhouse.
“I wish each participant the best of luck and hope everyone taking part can help make Pro’s Day as popular as it has been in recent years.”
All golfers taking part in Pro’s Day will receive a goodie bag on arrival at the Pro Shop while there will be team prizes and on-course prizes such as the popular longest drive and nearest to the pin.
Golfers will be offered a light refreshment at the fourth hole where a double your money gamble will be offered at this tricky par 3.
The main prize is a round at Gleneagles accompanied by Scott and all the proceeds raised from this raffle will be allocated to the club’s House Development Fund.
There are still limited spaces left for Pro’s Day this weekend, for more information please contact Scott at the Pro Shop on 0141 880 7058.
Fereneze Golf Club is currently offering new adult members who join the club this season a free kids membership for one child or grandchild. For more information contact club secretary Mitchell Jones on 0141 881 7149.
