The MP for East Renfrewshire has submitted an Early Day Motion at Westminster in recognition of the achievements of a non-profit organisation.

Kirsten Oswald MP brought forward the motion to celebrate Include Me 2 Club which provides inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities, additional needs, and mental health issues in East Renfrewshire.

The club reaches 1,200 members through programmes and activities designed to break down barriers and promote inclusion.

It also runs social enterprises including a Social Blend Coffee Shop and a Bike Hub.

Last year, the club obtained a 30-year lease on Cowan Park's Gate Lodge.

They conducted extensive renovation of the facility which now hosts a cafe, enterprise and community space for hire, meeting spots, and a cycling hub with a bike hire.

Ms Oswald's Early Day Motion honoured the club's Team of the Year nomination at the upcoming National Youth Work Awards on June 12 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel.

Sophia Asif received a copy of the motion from Ms Oswald on March 4.

The MP said: “I was delighted to learn about Include Me 2 Club’s nomination as ‘Team of the Year’ for the upcoming National Youth Work Awards and I marked this at Westminster with an Early Day Motion.

“Include Me 2 Club does fantastic work locally in East Renfrewshire and further afield, creating inclusive environments, breaking down barriers, and enabling everyone to fully participate in their local communities.

“The club has a range of activities and programmes for children and adults and last year they opened a new facility at Cowan Park offering a variety of services such as a café and a bike hire hub.

“I wish all the members, volunteers, and staff at the fantastic Include Me 2 Club the best of luck ahead of the National Youth Work awards.”
