Barrhead council offices will re-open to the public on Monday (March 18).

The offices have been shut since January while building works have been carried out.

We previously reported that a local authority spokesperson explaining the closure said: “This building has been in place for more than 20 years and requires upgrade works to the internal layout to ensure it meets the needs of the council.

“The works are funded as part of the council's capital budget.”

From Monday at 8.45am, however, Customer First will move back to the council offices.

To prepare for the move, Customer First will close in the Foundry at 12pm today (Friday, March 15).

The team will remain on standby at the Foundry for emergencies until 4pm today.
