A Barrhead man is being prosecuted for allegedly stealing electrical items from a store in the town.

James McCallum Peacock is said to have targeted Boots in Main Street on September 10 last year.

Peacock, of Newton Avenue, is alleged to have committed the offence while on bail over another case.

The case against Peacock, 50, called for the first time at Paisley Sheriff Court earlier this month.

He was not present and it was continued without plea until this week.

But at this week’s hearing, he did not attend, and Sheriff Seith Ireland continued the case until next month without plea.
